This month CloseUp team up with Jagermeister to take their ‘CloseUp Tour’ on the road again for a string of four dates across the UK.
Hitting up Liverpool (20/11), Birmingham (21/11), Sheffield (22/11) and London (23/11), 2019’s lineup is headed up by co-headliners Patawawa and EKKAH, plus recently announced special guests.
Ahead of the tour, we caught up with disco-pop trio Patawawa to find out what can be expected from the shows.
How would you describe yourselves to a Patawawa newcomer using only three words?
Really bad dancers.
You’re known for your DIY disco pop sound, how does your sound transfer into your live show? What’s to be expected from a Patawawa show?
Imagine you’re listening to us in your room, but you’re surrounded by people you don’t know; and there’s a few sweaty dancing on a stage. Welcome to a Patawawa gig, you’re the first one here.
You’re heading out on a co-headline tour with EKKAH this month for CloseUp, what are you looking forward to the most about those shows?
Beth’s looking forward to not being the only girl. #womenofdisco
You’ve played countless shows now, how do you keep touring exciting?
Our Ford C-Max shock absorbers went which was followed by a massive garage bill in Paris, that was exciting! We also drove into an underground car park with the roof box on and got jammed in the tunnel, another one off the bucket list.
What are the big aims for 2020? Is there a venue/city you really want to play in the future?
We’re just gonna stay out of tunnels, no matter how bright the light at the end.
