The Assist - Lost EP

September 5, 2018

Off the back of their ever building successes, including sets at TRNSMT and Reading Festival, Walsall indie quartet The Assist have shared their new EP, Lost.

Kicking off with the loud, conversational track Love which utilises resonant synth and wavering guitar with Mikey Stanton’s emphatic vocals; the EP consists of four very different tracks, highlighting the band’s versatility while still maintaining their indie-pop/rock sound.

Second track All That I Need begins with smooth, elevating vocals, providing a refreshing change in sound in comparison to heftier tracks Exist and Hung Up

Moving on through the EP, hearty bass and reverb sirens are the highlight of third track Exist; while lyrics such as “we’re just existing to not exist” infer the inspiration for the title of Lost

Closing on Hung Up, the repeated bridge “you think you’re so amazing, now you’re wrong you can’t take it” give the feeling that The Assist are aiming to spread a message through their conversational songwriting.

Lost offers an insight to The Assist’s promising potential as they continue to outdo themselves.
