Montauk Hotel have recently released their new single, Sense Of Place and have already been getting great reviews from the likes of The Thin Air and RTE 2FM.
The Dublin based band describe their style as ‘indie-shimmer-pop’ and this can certainly be heard throughout the song. Starting with jangly guitar riffs closely followed by soft drums, the indie pop side of the band can be heard instantly, and this is reinforced once the vocals kick in. The song is an easy listen due to the strong female vocals, something which is quite refreshing as the indie music scene currently seems to be mostly male dominated. The vocals also have quite a unique sound as Claudi Verdecchia (vocals) maintains her Irish accent whilst singing, making the song even more interesting as it adds to the different sounds heard throughout the song.
I definitely recommend checking these girls out and keeping an eye out for what else they release in the future!
