Following on from her solo project, Eliza Faie, Melissa Douglas has now joined forces with Nick Tompkins, Harvey Dent and James Bush to create Stranger Girl. The Brighton four piece take influence from bands like Black Honey and Circa Waves to produced shimmering indie pop goodness.
The four piece have recently released the follow up to their debut single, Thinking Down. Melissa’s laid-back vocals are a perfect match for Stranger Girl's shimmering sound, the pair easily create a chilled atmosphere with an emotional tinge to it in Thinking Down. Occasional jangly indie guitar maintains the energy throughout the track while everything else stays slightly mellow, sounding slightly like early INHEAVEN meets Circa Waves.
