Liverpool’s Cabezudos are a band I’ve had my eye on for a while, they’ve been appearing on a lot of line up posters lately and having finally gotten around to listening to them, I can understand why. The young four piece made up of Jack Hughes, Chris Bolton, Tom Maher and Harry Strachan have avoided naming themselves as any specific genre, but it’s easy to hear a blues-rock sound throughout their music.
It’s easy to hear influences such as The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin in the band’s latest single Tempting Fate, yet it still has a refreshing, youthful feel to it. Jack Hughes’ voice is the perfect match for a classic rock feeling riff which flows throughout the track while uptempo drum beats bring the whole thing together. There’s not a flaw to be found at any point in the 3:47 mins of Tempting Fate, leaving me with a taste for more from Cabezudos.
