2020 Ones To Watch: Phoebe Green
Manchester’s Phoebe Green has torn through 2019 with success after success, setting herself up for a huge breakthrough in 2020.
With her self-released and recorded 02:00 AM earning her an eager following since surfacing all the way back in 2016, Phoebe kicked off this year with the release of her first ‘proper’ single Dreaming Of on Chess Club Records. Since then, Green and co have toured alongside Sundara Karma and Swim Deep, shared the critically acclaimed second single Easy Peeler and supported Mac DeMarco at his two thousand-and-something Liverpool show; all before topping 2019 off with a huge hometown support slot at Manchester Arena with The Courteeners.
In a year filled with debate on gender equality in the music industry, Phoebe Green’s blend of tender honesty, anthemic choruses and uplifting synth pop has shone bright; and if her achievements so far are anything to go by, 2020 will be triumphant for the Northern newcomer.
