Liverpool Music Week 2017
Winner of Best Metropolitan Festival at the UK Festival Awards 2016, Liverpool Music Week is back this year with one hell of a line up for it’s 15th anniversary year. The second line up announcement from LMW sees a solid mix of both new and upcoming artists, and already established names like Everything Everything and Jungle.
Opening the week with their first Liverpool show since 1979, CHIC feat. Nile Rodgers will take to the Echo Arena stage for the biggest LMW opening party to date on the 26th of October. The opening party is followed by exciting names such as Dan Croll, Girl Ray, Childhood, Jungle, Goat Girl, Gengahr, Princess Nokia and a whole lot more, before drawing to an end with a huge closing party at Liverpool’s Guild Of Students; headlined by Manchester’s Everything Everything and supported by AJ Tracey, Zola Jesus, Perfume Genius, Shogun and The Orielles.
Having attended Liverpool Music Week for the first time last year, I am insanely keen to see what this year has to offer. 2016 saw some of this 2017’s biggest breakthrough bands, such as Mercury Prize nominated The Big Moon, the storming girl power of Dream Wife and the haunting talents of Let’s Eat Grandma play in intimate venues which I’m unlikely to see them in again, and this year promises to do exactly the same.
Check out our ones to watch for 2017 and full lineup/ticket information below.
Who: Everything Everything
Where: Liverpool Guild Of Students
Manchester's Everything Everything are no strangers to experimentation. With their brand new album, A Fever Dream reaching number 5 in the UK album charts, LMW is the perfect opportunity to experience a one of a kind band as their career continues to rise.
Where: The Magnet
LMW is one of the first live shows since Gengahr smashed back into our lives with brand new track, Carrion. The Magnet will play host to their hauntingly beautiful, almost otherworldly sound before they head out on tour with the mighty Jungle. A show you simply cannot miss.
Where: The Magnet
London's funky indie pop quintet Childhood play LMW ahead of their UK headline tour celebrating the release of their incredible new album, Universal High. Their infectious sound is one you surely will have come across already this year, and is certain to have the entirety of The Magnet moving when they bring Universal High to Liverpool.
