Having begun as a solo project, Edinburgh’s Motion have been through several band line-ups before finding their form as a three piece. They’ve gathered themselves radio play from indie stations all over the world and established themselves as ones to watch on the Scottish live scene before coming to release their debut EP.
With four tracks, the EP is a good display of what Motion are all about. Influence from the likes of The Smiths and New Order is easily heard through each track, giving the three piece a hint of a Manchester feel to their sound. Despite their sound being very familiar, Motion have put together four songs filled with talent. Catchy guitar hooks and infectious drum beats are packed into each of the four tracks, with those classic feeling vocals bringing everything together to give them the mature and familiar sound which makes them such easy listening.
