London based Daire Mulvihill, Josh Clarke and Anthony Sullivan make up Vertebrae. Self described as ‘alternative/noisy pop’, they’re a little heavier than the usual bands I’ve written about on here, but still just as impressive as those already featured.
As well as playing a slot at the infamous Camden Rocks, the three piece have recently released their new single Half The Time. Produced by Neil Kennedy, who has previously worked with the likes of Creeper and Milk Teeth, Half The Time mixes endearing, husky vocals with alt rock riffs. Vertebrae would easily fit on a lineup alongside Black Foxxes or The Xcerts. For me, they’ve managed to balance a heavier sound with a laid-back feel, creating easy listening and a heavier addition to my playlists.
